Carnegie Foundation names Dr. Omar H. Ali NC Professor of the year.

The Carnegie Foundation has named Dr. Omar H. Ali North Carolina Professor of the year. Ali is a Professor of Comparative African Diaspora History in the African American & African Diaspora Studies Program and is the Dean of Lloyd International Honors College.


Comanche: Hero Complexities

The African American & African Diaspora Studies program, the UNCG School of Dance, and University Libraries received a community-engaged grant: Comanche: Hero Complexities. This multidisciplinary community engaged event series gives voice to Caribbean and African diasporic legacies and contributes to the diverse perspectives that are part of American culture.
