naming Space: The AADS Story
In October 2022, AADS held a naming ceremony in recognition of two spaces in the AADS suite of offices:
the Lorenzo “Logie” Meachum Lecturer’s Office, named after AADS’ longest-serving lecturer and beloved colleague, peer, and mentor;
and the N. Frank Woods, Jr. Library, named after our longest-serving director of AADs, who is also a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, for his thirty-plus years of service to UNC Greensboro.
These named spaces now present biographical plaques and nameplates in the rooms named after them.
AADS minor Maya Darby and fellow film-maker and UNCG alum Duncan Lauer recently received a laurel for this documentary at the African Film Festival in Atlanta!
