CACE 2015 will take place February 10th & 11th, 2015 in the Elliot University Center on UNCG’s campus. This year, the conference will be student-focused, featuring the research and analysis of undergraduate and graduate students from UNCG and colleges and universities around the country.

The theme is African American & African Diaspora Studies: Then & Now. Topics will be from a variety of areas of study, including history, literature, music, film, social sciences, and more.

Some topics may include:

  • Issues of black identity and community formation (and performance), as shaped by possible intersections between race, sexuality, class, gender and ability
  • Comparative studies in Africana cultures, art, music, literature, poetry, and dance accross the Atlantic and Indian Ocean worlds
  • New approaches to African American and other African Diasporic peoples with regard to politics, religion, science, society, and economics.
